1986-87 : Rt. Rev. Dr. Kagithapu Mariadas Bishop of Viskahapatnam invited the sisters of St. Ann work in the Diocese.
Rev.Sr.Martin the Provincial superior south East Province, India, sent a team of sisters to mediate with Bishop and negotiate the proposal,
Acquired twenty four acres of land at Mangalapalem to start an English Medium School and for future expansion
The land was purchased paying a sum of six lakhs and registered in the name of the Society of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Ann. The purchase of the land and its registration was done through the intervention of Fr. Antony Parayıl the parish priest of Christ the King Church, Mangalapalem
1987-88 : Sr.Enid and Sr.Magdalene arrived at Mangalapalem. They were welcomed by Fr.George Koovakal the Parish priest and the people of the village. The two sisters were accommodated in the guest room adjacent to the parish church. Sr.Enid supervised the construction of the Convent and the School building. Sr.Magdalene was appointed to teach in the Parish School
1988-89 : On 4 June 1989 the Convent block and the first floor of the School building blessed and inaugurated by Rt. Rev. Dr. K. MariaDas Bishop of Visakhapatnam Students were admitted into L.K.G, U.K.G. 1st and 2nd standard.
1989-90 : The School upgraded with Class III.Sr.Domitilla was entrusted with the administration of the Diocesan parish School. A bore well was completed to provide the water facility to the convent and School children.
1990-91 : Children admitted to class IV. Sr. Scholastica took up the construction of the 1520 meter long compound wall around the campus. The leveling of the school ground to provide a play ground for children was started by Sr. Joyce.
1991-92 : The School up graded to class V. The first School day celebrated with mirth and cheer as the parents and the public reveled at the spontaneous display of the talents by their children, Sr.Scholastica completed a three year term as a superior and was transferred. Place and her request was granted. We place on record our deep sense of gratitude to Sr. Scholastica for her pioneering work at Mangalapalem,
1992-93 : Sr. Lina Pulikal- appointed as Superior and Correspondent on 5 June 1992. She welcomed by a cheering crowd of sisters, teachers and children. A programme of poverty alleviation and self reliance launched. Sr.Romana introduced the MCH programme benefitting hundreds of women and children from the villagers of Mangalapalem, Desapathrunipalem Kothavalasa, Relly colony and the surrounding localities. Sr.Romana
was responsible for the introduction of the small saving scheme in the village.
through which many families were helped to pay off their debts, build houses
start self employment units or open individual bank account.
1993-94 : A praise worthy achievement for
the Institution. After an year of relentless effort and persuasion by Sr. Lina
the Correspondent and Sr. Joyce the Head Mistress, permission was granted for a
manned gate at the railway crossing. This was a matter of great joy to the
sisters, teachers, children and the parents. Hearty congratulations to Sr.Lina
Pulikal and Sr.Joyce Thotathil for this gift to the future generation.
1994-95 : Sr. Joyce Thotathil was transferred after six years of dedicated service to the Institution. Sr.Pauline D'Costa took charge of the School as Head
Mistress. The School was granted recognition up to classes VI, by
the department of Education Andhra Pradesh Vide G.O.No 1 Edn.(Rules...) Dept. 1995-96 : Sr.Pauline D'Costa was
transferred and she was succeeded by Sr. Colleen as Headmistress Residential
facility was provided for the students hailing from the distant areas of
Vizianagaram District and other places. Sr.Seraphia took charge of the boarding
children and won their affection and admiration who fondly called her
"Boarding Mother The School ground was renovated making it a
spacious arena to conduct sports and games. It could also accommodate audience
up to twenty thousand for any School functions.
1996-97 : The first batch of students
appeared for the VII class Board Examination. They proved to be true " Annesians "
by securing 100% pass results.
1997-98 : The Education department of Andhra Pradesh granted
permission to start class VII in English Medium. Thus the School was up graded to a High
School
1998-2000 :.Sr. Lina Pulikal the Correspondent was transferred and
Sr.Francis Marie assumed charge as the Superior and Correspondent. With
permission from D.E.O. to start Class IX in English Medium the students were
promoted. The extension of St.Joseph's Boarding - a separate wing, ground floor
was constructed.
1999-2000 :The School becomes a full-fledged High School with the
opening of class X in English Medium. Sr.Colleen and the teachers prepared the
first batch of students bestowing personal attention to their studies. On
appearing for the 10" class public examination in April 2000, this first
batch made their teachers and the Institution almost proud by securing 98 pass
percentage, many of them with distinction and first classes.
2000-2001 : The new millennium brought many laurels to the
Institution. The Department of Education Andhra Pradesh recognized the spirited
service of Sr.Colleen the Headmistress to the cause of Education and conferred
on her the Best Teacher Award on September Sh 2001. This joyful event was
celebrated by the sisters, teachers and students with immense joy. Hearty
Congratulations to Sr.Colleen. Some of our students from the High School
section participated in the District level Science fair competition and
captured the rolling shield. They participated in the State level competition
at Hyderabad and won 2 prize.
2001-2002 : Sr.Francis Marie, the Superior, vigorously
carried out the "Clean and Green" programme on the campus by planting
two hundred Teak saplings, hundred coconut trees and many fruit trees. Many of
the trees yielding fruits today tells of the work of her hands She continued
the MCH programme started by Sr. Romana, doing much good to the people. At the
zonal level science exhibition, conducted at Jindal Vidyapeet, Vizianagaram, St Ann's Hich School secured the overall
championship.
2002-2003 : A multipurpose hall with asbestos roofing was
built. This hall was to serve the purpose of organizing functions, seminars,
meetings etc, besides providing shelter to the non residential students to have
their lunch. At the State level Science fare, the exhibit displayed by St.Ann's High School, won the second prize
2003-2004 : Sr. Colleen was transferred in May 2003 and was
succeeded by Sr.Catherine Kapplyil. A Unit of National Green Corps (NGC) was formed with 20
students School Bus Swaraj Mazda with seating facility for 36 students was purchased
on 7 October 2003,
2004-2005 : Sr.Francis Marie completes her term as superior and
correspondent and Sr.Theresa V assumed charge on June 1" 2004 Sr.Catherine
the Headmistress was honoured by the department of Education Vizianagaram
District for the 100% passed result of the SSC Public Examination. Giving a forward thrustto the
extracurricular activities Sr.Catherine initiated the NCC wingfor boys.
2005-2006 : Under the guidance of Sr.Catherine the land around the School building was
beautified by setting up lawns and gardens. It was her interest to grow shady
trees around the school building. An array of Badam trees behind the school
building provide shade besides adding beauty to the campus. A new School Bus
EICHER MOTORS, with a seating capacity of 42, was purchased on January18"2006.
2006-2007 : At the zonal level Sports Meet, junior division,
P. Santhosh of class VII secured first place in 200 and 100 meters race. Under the Senior division,
K. Ganesh of class X won first place in high jump and long jump thus qualified
himself for the State level competition The Second floor of the Primary School section was
inaugurated. The silver Jubilee of beating the Religious consecration of Sr.Theresa V, the
correspondent was celebrated in a b way. She was transferred on 30 May 2007 after completing a
term of three years.
2007-2008 : District level Science Exhibition organized at
Vizianagaram, St.Ann's Mangalapalem won the second prize for the exhibit, Water
Management At the 15 national children's Science Congress, two projects of our
students were selected for State level presentation, wherein they represented
Vizianagaram District at Hyderabad. A58 seater Omni bus Ashok Leyland was purchased which would
fly en route S.Kota, Vizianagram etc.
2008-2009 : Sr.Jacintha Mundadan replaced Sr.Mary Rani Thota as superior and
Correspondent on
1" June 2008 Telugu Medium sections from VI to X class Introduced. This
was a move closer to the spirit of our Founder who served the poor and
neglected section of the society with special predilection. School Band,
introduced providing music and festivity to all School function. At the District level Yoga selection of the "under
14 age group" Kumari, Ch. Lalitha, Navya, and Bhagya sri, of class VII participated
at district level and were selected for the State level conduct. Leela Praveen of
class VI was selected from the boy group. Foundation stone was laid for the High
School block on 7 December 2008.,
2009-2010 : Setting a professional bend to the School
Education IIT foundation coaching classes was brought to the campus. During the 1" year of the
coaching five students were selected for the triple IT by the Govt. of Andhra
Pradesh. Introduction of the Smart class provides a High-tech culture to the
class room teaching, A two Storied High School Block was inaugurated and blessed by
Fr. K. T. Jose on the 25 July 2009
2010-2011 : NCC Girls wing Inaugurated. A new vehicle nine seater Bolero
XL was purchased for the convent and Boarding A New School bus Mahindra, 27
seater purchased on 28 October 2010
2011-2012 : Having completed three year term as superior and
correspondent, Sr. Jacintha received a transfer order to take up the duty as administrator at St.
Joseph's Dental College Eluru Sr. Theresa Cherian, appointed as superior and correspondent
w.e.f. 1 June 2011. The first floor of the extended portion of St. Joseph's
boarding constructed, and blessed by Fr. Wilson of St. John's Seminary,
Kondadaba. Breaches on the compound wall in six places repaired up to 40 meter
length. The road from the school to Mangalapalem church, broadened
and renovated with sand and gravel. Jubilee Park with an area of 1500 sq. ft. for
the children of kindergarten equipped with modern play things inaugurated. Cement road
laid from the park to the convent. The year 2012 places special mark in the history of St.
Ann's Convent and High School Mangalapalem because of the completion of 25
fruitful years. The event was celebrated in a befitting manner on 15th
December, 2012. Thanksgiving Holy Mass was offered in the morning giving a
spiritual feast to all those connected with the Institution in one way or
other. The concelebrated Holy Mass was officiated by Rev. Fr. Joji Babu, the
Diocesan Apostolic Vicar and a number of Priests. The cultural evening with
variety entertainments gave a glittering finale to the Jubilee Celebration. The
students vied with each other in showcasing their talents and enthralling the
audience. The presence of our pioneer sisters, benefactors and friends who are
associated with our Institution from its beginning stage, enhanced the joy and
beauty of the celebration
2013-14 : Sr.
Catherine Kappiyel relinquished her service as Headmistress And Sr. Anthumary Kondaveeti took
charge.
2014-15 : Sr.
William took charge as principal
2017-18 : Sr.
Vimala Devi Kolukuluri took charge as principal.Telugu Medium section of the high
school was closed.

2013-2014;Sr. Theresa cherian received a transfer as her service was greatly needed at Xavier's Board, Bangalore. Sr.Shibl. already a member of this Community was appointed as Superior and Correspondent w.e.f 1st June 2013.
Having completed a decade as Headmistress, Sr Catherine. K received a transfer and Sr. Anthu Mary Kondaveeti succeeded her. Fire extinguishers installed in A,B,C blocks of the school as safety measure. Manual fee bills replaced with computerized bills. A new school bus Swaraj Mazda, 45 seater was purchased.
2014-2015 Sr. William Kurian succeeded Sr. Anthu Mary Kondaveeti as the Headmistress. A seminar on concentration was conducted for High School children (Vito X) The resource person for the same was Mr. Suresh Reddy from Hyderabad,
Hud-Hud Cyclone on 12" October 2014 was a blood-curdling experience, which left the school treeless and exposed.
The multipurpose shed was destroyed by Hud-Hud but reconstructed spending Rs.5.00,000/
2015-2016 ;S. Cruz Mary Stansilaus replaced Sr. Shibi Chakkalakal as Superior and Correspondent on 19 June 2015. For all the Blocks (4,88C) safety grills were installed. Annual sports Day was conducted with pomp. For the convenience of the staff six toilets were constructed.
In the public exam our school stood first in the educational District of Vizianagaram, 3 students with 10 points, four with 9.8 and five with 9.7 A good number secured more than 9 point.
